VikingHolstein Spring Sire Focus Some Sires are presented on BPI proofs and others on NTM. We have many clients who have grown to understand the Viking Sire Proofs over the years, and they appreciate the thorough information in Viking’s NTM proofs, particularly on the health traits. For this reason, we will always have a large portion of sires presented on NTM. But there are many farmers who are not familiar with Viking or NTM Proofs, so for this reason we present the sires who calculate well to BPI on the Australian system. PROVEN VH ASCARI is roaring back up the BPI listings, with in milk daughters here flowing into his proof. Ascari is now ranked highest on BPI than he has ever been since arriving in the country as a genomic Sire in 2021. Daughter fertility and Cell Count are still big drivers in Ascari’s proof, and his ASI has increased substantially with a solid lift in components to compliment his positive milk index. Ascari is a fabulous calving ease sire with a reliability of 99%, and the growth rate of his calves is outstanding. PROVEN VH HEAT PP has maintained his ABV standing as he moves from Genomic to Proven and is holding up well for milk production, kilograms of protein and percentage. Daughter fertility and cell count are at a high level, and we are hearing many positive comments about his daughters. Nice temperament and longer teats with good rear placement is a common observation of Heat daughters in the shed. PROVEN VH NADER has increased 32 BPI points with the addition of in milk daughters to his Australian proof. Nader daughters are generally lovely black heifers with quality udders. Calving ease is exceptional at 105 and can be used with conventional semen on maiden heifers, as well as sexed of course. Nader has all health traits of a positive trend. Daughter fertility and cell count are strong here and he is excellent on his NTM proof for all other health traits as well including hoof health (Sole Haemorrhage +108 and white line separation +116) early and late reproductive disorders, ketosis, metabolic diseases and feet and leg problems. PROVEN VH FRIDAY is a very nice sire if you are looking for PROVEN daughter fertility, production ASI 190, and great udders built to last with strong fore and rear attachments. Friday will also give you strength as his dairy strength composite is 103 and his stature to chest ratio is very desirable at 95 and 103 respectively. Daughters display a strong topline and legs are desirable with good foot angle and rear view is nicely apart as well. Teat placement is another feature with front teat placement 102 and rear placement 98. PROVEN VH CROWN - Need to put more milk into your cows without losing components?
